TRIFED to organise Aadi Mahotsav from Jan 19-28 in Ranchi

Ranchi, Jan 18 (UNI) The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation (TRIFED), which is an agency of the Union Tribal Ministry, is organising a mega national tribal festival from January 19 to 28 in Ranchi in which over 100 tribal artisans from over 20 states would be participating.
Addressing a press conference here today, MD TRIFED Pravir Krishna said the agency is primarily engaged in the development and marketing of traditional tribal products including handicrafts, textiles, jewellery, paintings and natural and organic products.
He said, TRIFED aims to improve the livelihoods of tribal communities by creating a sustainable market and business opportunities for them based on their culture knowledge and traditional skills alongwith ensuring fair and equitable remuneration. Mr Krishna said that a theme of the festival is celebration of the spirit of tribal craft, culture, cuisine and commerce.
