Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Sep 17 2016 8:39PM Top Maoist leader Daya escapes during encounter with SOG jawansKoraput, Sep 17 (UNI) Top Maoists leader Daya of Andhra Odisha special zonal committee had a narrow escape from the clutches of SOG jawans during an exchange of fire in Panasput village under Padua police station today. According to sources, Maoist top cadre Daya with some Maoists of chattisghar were camping in the jungle. Acting on a tip off about the activity of Maoists, the security forces and police started combing operation in the areas. However, when the SOG jawans were on the searching operation, the Maoists started fire at them to which SOG jawans retaliated. The exchange of fire was continued for hours. Later, the Red rebels fled from the spot leaving some Maoist materials and arms and ammunition. The police recovered some Detonators, ID Bombs, gun making materials, Maoists literature, uniforms from the spot.
