Three tourists killed, ten others injured in a road mishap

Balasore, Dec 8 (UNI) In a tragic road mishap three tourists were killed and ten others were injured when a minibus carrying them rammed into a stationary truck from the rear near a petrol outlet at Sergarh in the wee hours today.

The tourists were coming from Balisahi area and heading towards Devkund, a tourist spot in Mayurbhanj district when the accident occurred as the driver lost control over the wheel.

Most of the tourists said that they had no idea what went wrong as they fell asleep. However, some of them compliant that the driver was drunk.

The deceased have been identified as Trinath Dash, Bapi Mishra and Gangadhar Dash.

The mini-bus was carrying 27 tourists which included women and children and most of them are relatives to each other.

All the injured tourists have been admitted in the hospital. A 10-year child is among the injured admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.

The Khantapara police have started an investigation and initiated measures to remove the mangled bus from the accident site on the national highway.
