Three devotees killed, 10 injured as tempo falls into river in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Jul 20 (UNI) Three devotees were killed and at least ten others were injured, some of them critically, when a tempo in which they were travelling fell down from a bridge into the Girija river after its driver lost control over the wheel near Patri village on Aurangabad-Jalgaon road, about 35 Km from here, today.
The accident occurred at around 1400 hours this afternoon when a tempo with 21 devotees from Vijaypur village in Shavgaon taluka of Ahmednagar district were returning home from the Aamsari Ashram in Sillod tehsil of Aurangabad district following the Guru Poornima festival.
At that time a jeep came on the bridge of Girija river and the tempo driver tried to avoid a pothole but lost control over the wheel and the tempo fell down into the river after breaking a portion of parapet wall of the bridge, police said.
