Thousands come out in streets shouting Long Live Manipur, CM briefs Governor

Imphal, Oct 24 (UNI) Thousand of people staged a rally at the busy Khwairamband Keithel, the main market of the city shouting Long Live Manipur as people waited for the talks between the government and the Naga militants.
People from all communities attended the rallly and demanded that the talks should not affect Manipur in any form.
As the situation got tense, Chief Minister N Biren Singh rushed to Raj Bhawan and briefed Governor Dr Najma Heptulla about the situation. Manipur Speaker Y Khemchand also sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi informing him that the Manipur Assembly had taken resolutions to protect Manipur's integrity nine time in the wake of the talks with Naga militants.
