Patna, Jan 20 (UNI) Union Minister for Food and Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Ramvilas Paswan speaking on the controversial issue of National Record for Citizenship(NRC) today said that there was no question of NRC in the light of clarification of the Prime Minister and Home Minister on the issue.
Supporting the stand of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on NRC, Mr Paswan told media here that the Prime ministers’ statement too was on the same line on the issue. Elaborating Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), NRC and National Population Register (NPR) in detail he assured that that citizenship of any Indian citizen will never be snatched. He said that Dalits, tribals, backwards, minorities of upper castes were original citizens of the country.
He appealed to the citizens not to bother unnecessarily as citizenship was their birthright which cannot be snatched away.
