New Delhi, July 8 (UNI) Taking yet another step towards adoption of clean fuel, Indian Railways has successfully tested a battery-powered rail engine.
The engine named 'Navdoot' has been built in the Jabalpur division of the railway and works in dual mode.
Railways Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted a video of the engine to inform of the success of the 'Navdoot' test run. He wrote, "This battery-powered loco is a sign of a bright future, which will be a major step forward in saving foreign exchange with diesel and preserving the environment."
