Tension in BJP over Tripura poll candidates

Agartala, Jan 28 (UNI) Tension sparked in several places in Tripura among BJP supporters over the selection of candidates on Saturday ahead of the February 16 state Assembly polls.
Angry BJP supporters locked and vandalised the Mandal office at Ganganagar under Babasa constituency. They destroyed the party signboard, flags, and festoons seeking change of nominee.
BJP Babasa Mandal president Sudip Deb announced he would contest the election as an independent candidate from the constituency as the party has given the ticket to Jadab Lal Nath, who had lost in the 2018 election from another seat.
