Temple demolition : BJP seeks action against CM, CS

Hyderabad, Jul 13 (UNI) BJP Telangana unit on Monday sought action against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar holding them responsible for the demolition of Nalla Pochamma temple inside the old Secretariat complex here.

MLC A Ramachander Rao accompanied by state party official spokesperson N V Subhash and city party general secretary Atluri Ramakrishna lodged a complaint with Saifabad police demanding action against the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary by registering a criminal case for hurting sentiments of majority people by demolishing the religious structure, a party statement here said.

It was unfortunate to say on the part of Chief Minister that the temple was damaged when debris fell down on the structure during demolition work, the BJP MLC said, adding that Mr Rao expressed concern on seeing public outrage who opposed demolition of Hindu temple.

The Chief Minister should have taken precautions to protect the sentiments of people when demolition work was going on near the temple premises. But he never bothered about sentiments of people and ordered dismantling of buildings in midnight itself, the BJP leader said.
