Hyderabad, Oct 15 (UNI) Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) National President and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) on Sunday unveiled the party's election manifesto for the state Assembly elections, scheduled for November 30.
Speaking to the media after releasing the manifesto, KCR emphasised several key promises, which include raising the Aasara pension from Rs 2,016 to Rs 3,000 per month and gradually increasing it to Rs 5,000, with an annual increment of Rs 500. Disabled pensions will also see an increase, growing from Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000, benefiting around 5.35 lakh disabled individuals.
The BRS also pledged that the grant under Rythu Bandhu (farmers' investment scheme) will be increased from Rs 12,000 per acre per year to Rs 16,000 per acre per year, with a phased implementation plan.
The manifesto promised to launch the "KCR Bheema" scheme, offering insurance coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh to those holding a white ration card, in a manner similar to the Rythu Bheema scheme. This initiative is set to benefit around 93 lakh families.
Among other premises are doling out Rs 3,000 to impoverished women under the "Showbhagya Lakshmi" scheme, providing a subsidy of Rs 400 per gas cylinder to eligible individuals including journalists who have accreditation cards and granting them Rs 15 lakh in health insurance, on par with government employees, through the "KCR Arogya Raksha" program.
BRS also promised to ensure white ration card holders have access to high-quality rice through fair-price shops under the "Annapurna Scheme," with plans to extend this programme to tribal areas in the future.
It pledged to continue the "Dalitha Bandhu" and "Rythu Bheema" initiatives, and convert Lambadi Thandas and Gondu Gudems into Panchayats.
Constructing an additional one lakh double-bedroom houses to benefit the underprivileged, establishing 119 residential schools to support the upper-caste population, constructing dedicated facilities for Women Self Help Groups, with full rights granted to beneficiaries on assigned lands are among the other promises made in the manifesto.
KCR assured the public the promises would be implemented within the first six to seven months after assuming power for the third time in the state.
