Technical snag hits Metro's Yellow Line for 4 hours

New Delhi, May 21 (UNI) Delhi Metro Train services on Yellow Line between Qutub Minar and Sultanpur section were affected for four hours on Tuesday due to a technical snag. Over 5,000 passengers from two trains were deboarded and moved to nearby Metro stations.
Normal train services were restored on both the Up and Down Lines of entire yellow Line at 1328 hrs, a DMRC spokesperson said. Metro train services were not available between Qutub Minar and Sultanpur section from 0927 – 1150 hrs due to breakdown of overhead wire which was reported by a train as it approached Sultanpur Metro station from Chhattarpur, leading to tripping of power supply in this section, the spokesperson said.
At 0945 hrs, due to tripping of power supply, two trains which were in this section (Train-1 between Qutub Minar and Chattarpur and, Train-2 between Chattarpur and Sultanpur) went immobile and it was decided to deboard the passengers and take them towards the nearest Metro station. Special assistance was provided to 11 commuters (differently abled/not feeling well), the spokesperson said.
