Talathi, aide in ACB net for accepting Rs 5k bribe

Kolhapur, Nov 12 (UNI) A 47-year-old Talathi and his aide were arrested on Tuesday by the sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) here, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
According to ACB, the accused were identified as Praveenkumar Balasaheb Todkar (47), Talathi of Sajja-Shahapur village in Hatkanangale tehsil and Siddhagonda Laxman Dange (36).
Quoting the complainant, ACB said the complainant met the Talathi in regards of issuing a 7/12 certificate. Todkar asked him to meet his aide Dange, who earlier demanded Rs 8,000 bribe and later settled for Rs 5,000, mentioned the complainant.
Based on the allegations, a trap was laid at the Talathi office and Dange was nabbed red-handed, while taking Rs 5,000 bribe. Subsequently, Talathi Praveenkumar was arrested, ACB added.
