Lucknow, Sep 13 (UNI) Anti-Terrorist squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh police has nabbed a suspected terrorist of Hijbul Mujahaddin outfit from Kanpur on Thursday who was trying to trigger some explosion during Ganesh Chaturthi.
The accused Quamurjama, 38, was arrested from Kanpur on the input from National Intelligence Agencies, said UP DGP O P Singh here.
A native of Assam and an expert of commuter science, Quamurjama alias Dr Hureha was nabbed from Chekeri area of Kanpur.
The accused terrorist was staying on rent in the house of a local Councillor as a student and the ATS nabbed him at 0300 hours.
The ATS sleuths have recovered several documents and photographs of different temples of the city where the terrorist was slated to operate during the Ganesh Chaturthi, the DGP said.
Quamurjama, also got arms training at Kistwada in Kashmir operated at the Mujahaddin camp and joined the outfit in April 2017 with the help of one Osama.
According to the details the terrorist also stayed in Philippines between 2008 to 2012 and had put his photograph in the social media with a AK-47 assault rifle.The terrorist outfit had named the accused as Dr Hureha.
Meanwhile, the ATS was interrogating the accused terrorist and was in search of his links with other people.
