Sushma comes to rescue of Indian woman harassed by in-laws in Pakistan

New Delhi, March 20 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has come to the rescue of an Indian woman who had been married off to a person in Pakistan and was being ill-treated by her in-laws. Ms Swaraj has asked the Indian High Commission in Islamabad to renew the passport of the woman, Mohammada Begum, and facilitate her return to India. She acted after she was heard about the woman’s woes from her father Mohammad Akbar through a message on Youtube. 'Our mission sent a Note Verbale requesting the safety, security and well-being of Mohammada Begum,’’ she said in a series of tweets. ‘’Our High Commission officials met Mohammadia Begum and she expressed her desire to return to India, ‘’ Ms Swaraj said.
