Sushant's next- biopic on Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) After the biopic on India's cricket team captain MS Dhoni, Sushant Singh Rajput has been signed for a movie based on the life of Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar.
The biopic, to be scripted by journalist-turned-scriptwriter Prashant Singh, is tentatively titled Murli - The Unsung Hero.
Sources said it was Petkar, who suggested Sushant's name since he is a huge fan of the actor.
Sushant is also quite excited about this project, they added.
The actor said he decided to do this project as he thinks the flick will be an inspiration to many.
The story of Murlikant Petkar is an inspirational tale of his journey, from being an EME jawan of the Indian National Army to a boxer to a Paralympic winner.
The journey of Murlikant has been filled with several stories of bravery. He was once also shot by seven bullets during the 1965 war against Pakistan.
Though he survived the injuries, a bullet which is still stuck in his spine, made him paraplegic.
Despite his disablity, Murlikant went on to win a gold medal at Paralympics.
To be presented by Shekhar Kapur, Murli - The Unsung Hero is slated to go on floors in mid-2017.
