Surgical strikes: Army hands over footage to PMO; journalist hit in Pakistani firing in Rajouri; Modi chairs Cabinet Committee on Security meet; Islamabad cries foul

New Delhi/Jammu , Oct 5 (UNI) Setting at rest speculation on surgical strikes six days ago across the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), the Indian Army today submitted to the government the footage of the operation, which had demolished seven launch pads of terrorists, . The Prime Minister's office has received the footage, Union minister of state for home Hansraj Ahir told UNI. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take a decision on whether to release the contents in public domain, he added. Mr Modi today took stock of the country’s security situation at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security. According to sources, the developments on the border and related happenings were discussed at the meeting. The review of national security came amid tension on the LoC in the wake of the surgical strikes against terrorists carried out by the Army on the intervening night of September 28-29. The action against terrorist launch pads across the border came in the wake of the attack at the Army brigade camp in Uri in which 19 Indian soldiers were martyred. According to the Director General of Military Operations Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, the special forces of the Army inflicted heavy losses on the terrorists. MORE UNI TEAM MK-NB RP1920
