Star Sports to air India's World Cup victories on Sunday

Mumbai, Mar 21 (UNI) In a bid to bring some cheer in the lives of people, who are highly disappointed with the cancellation of a number of sporting events across the globe due to the rising Novel Coronavirus pandemic, the Star Sports has decided to satiate the hunger of fans by televising some epic battles on the cricket field.

The channel will air one-hour programmes, documenting the highlights of the Indian's team World Cup victories in 1983 and 2011, on Sunday.
"Star Sports brings to your screens one-hour programmes, documenting the highlights of the glorious achievements of our Indian heroes during the 1983 World Cup final (between India and West Indies), 2007 ICC World T20 final (between India and Pakistan) and the historic 2011 World Cup (between India and Sri Lanka)," the channel said in a statement here.
'If you missed watching the story of India's greatest win in 1983 at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground, which saw Kapil Dev's side lift the coveted title for the first time -- or the epic last-over thriller against Pakistan in the 2007 World Cup final in Johannesburg, where M S Dhoni led India's triumph against arch-rivals Pakistan, now's your time to reminiscence cricketing folklore!", it added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the citizens to follow the 'Janta curfew' on March 22, from 0700 hrs to 2100 hrs, saying no citizen, barring those in essential services, should get out of house.
A number of sports personalities have come forward in spreading the message to combat the pandemic.
COVID-19 cases in India rose to 283 on Saturday, including 23 who have recovered and four deaths, the Health Ministry said.
Globally, Italy reported a dramatic surge in Coronavirus deaths at 627 on Friday, taking the total number of casualties to over 11,000, while the number of infected people topped 275,000.
