SP to release another UP Assy candidates list next week

Lucknow,Jul 5(UNI)Already maintaining a lead over all other political parties in declaring the candidates for the 2017 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the ruling Samajwadi party is likely to announce another list of candidates in coming week.
SP has already announced candidates for the 153 seats it had lost in 2012 assembly elections.
The SP has 229 members in the 403-member state assembly. The elections are likely to be held early next year. To prevent the cross-voting during the elections to the Rajya Sabha and State Legislative Council, Samawjadi party delayed the announcement of the candidates for the sitting seats. The cross-voting could have resulted in embarrassment for the party due to the defeat of the official party candidates for the upper house of parliament and the state Legislature. However, the party had to suspend four MLAs from the party for cross-voting during the RS polls.
