Smriti says women walk behind their men for a reason

New Delhi, Jan 3 (UNI) Minister for Women and Child Development and Textiles Smriti Irani has her own take on why women walk two steps behind their husband and her answer is winning over twitterati.
In an old video on TikTok, on Chinese micro blogging site, that has gone viral, the Minister is seen being asked by Paahi (@paahi.official) on the and says, "Woh kehte hai ki tum thori si rude-i wali ho. Pati se do kadam peeche chalti ho, jaise ki mahilao ki problem hi yehi hai. Bhagwan ne kahi na kahi nischit kiya, sanskaar kuch aise diye, ki Hindustan ki mahilaye ne socha ki pati kabhi dagmaga jaye toh thaamne ki himmat sirf mujhe mein, is liye usse ek kadam peeche chalu.'
Translated it means that according to her, "God has decided that in Indian culture, women should always walk two steps behind their husband in the event that he wavers or deviates from his path, or loses balance. The woman, who is behind him, has the strength to prop him and put him back on track, that's why she should always stay a step behind."
