Site approved for establishing IIT in Goa: Pandey

Panaji, Nov 17 (UNI) Goa government has identified land measuring about 318 acres in South Goa District, for the establishment of the Indian Institute of Technology in the state, Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development Mahendra Nath Pandey informed the Rajya Sabha today
In a written reply to a question by MP Shantaram Naik, Mr Pandey said the state government has identified land in Loliem, Cancona Taluka, South Goa District, approved by the competent authority on the recommendations of the Site Selection Committee, constituted by the ministry.
The Minister further said that IIT was proposed to be established, in pursuant to Budget Announcement 2014-15.
