New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) Sitanshu Kar, an officer of the Indian Information Services (IIS) Group A and the Director General of News Service Division of AIR, Sitanshu Kar has been appointed as Director General of the PIB.
Mr. Kar, who will take over as head of PIB from May 1, will replace the Principal Director General Frank Noronha, who is retiring on April 30.
Mr. Kar is being sent to PIB from AIR so that he can get well versed with its working.
According to an official release, Ms Ira Joshi has been given the charge of DG of AIR News Service, in place of Mr. Kar.
Currently, she will be also overseeing the work as Director General of Doordarshan News.
