Kolkata, May 13 (UNI) Sin Sister is an upcoming Bengali movie, a psychological thriller based on the novel Sin Sister, by Australian novelist, Geri Hemer. The film is produced by Geri Hemer and Pinaki Ghosh and directed by Subhabrata Chatterjee under the production banner Power Publishers and Motion Pictures. The filming of Sin Sister began from the April 26 and is expected to be over by June. It is for the first time in the history of Bengali movie, an overseas author from Australia has invested to produce a Bengali movie which is an adaptation of her own novel. This movie will also show a lead actor in a double role after almost 10 years in Bengali cinema. The movie encircles around two identical twin sisters Piyu and Kuhu, who work under bestselling youth icon author Durjoy Mitra as his assistants. Durjoy and his fiancée. Tanushree are getting ready for their imminent marriage, when something unexpected happens to Tanushree. Shrewd police detective Agnibesh Chatterjee swings into action and is determined to solve the puzzle that arises. A few days of filming has already commenced and the remaining shoot will be completed by end of this June. Debleena Dutt, lead cast in a double role, is a leading Bengali film actress predominantly known for her works in Bengali cinema and television, said this film is completely different from any other films around twin sisters made in history. She said she is portraying two sisters who work with youth icon, celebrity bestseller author Durjoy Mitra, portrayed by Tathagata Mukherjee. Piyu is a graphic novel artist, while Kuhu is an editor. Durjoy’s fiancé Tanushree is played by Tuhina Das,who gets friendly with the twins, while getting ready for her marriage, when something unexpected happens, triggering a series of unexpected and dark incidents. In real life twins are not as different as black and white, unlike we saw in earlier films around twins, like Chaalbaaz or Sita Aur Geeta. Piyu and Kuhu are very similar, with some differences that can be traced to their dark childhood, and the development of their characters is logical, with in-depth introspection into their psychology, said Debleena Dutt, playing the mystery twins. Tathagata Mukherhjee, popular Bengali movie actor, playing the lead male in this movie, said Debolina and his chemistry on screen is appreciated and that is why they have been cast in lead roles in back to back films. The leading star cast of this psychological thriller includes popular actress Debleena Dutt, Tathagata Mukherjee, singer Rupankar Bagchi, Tuhina Das, Preetam Ganguli, Madhumita Gupta, Geri Hemer, and others. National Award winning Bengal singer Rupankar Bagchi is playing a shrewd police investigator who tries to untangle a mesh of mystery and confusions. He has his unconventional ways to unearth the truth which lies hidden. His characterization is unlike any other Bengali detective seen on screen before. The film is being shot in different locations of Kolkata and Rajarhat New town. Film director Subhabrata Chatterjee said, he is using drones to shoot some of the action sequences.
