Panaji, Jun 2 (UNI) Special Shramik Express Train of Konkan Railway departed from Karmali Railway Station at 1757 hrs carrying 1628 passengers on board for Malda Town, West Bengal, while another Special Train No.05028 left from Madgaon Railway Station to Rewa, Madha Pradesh at 2018 hrs carrying 737 and 12 passengers to Chhattisgarh on June 1, 2020.
SP South Arvind Gawas, IPS; Special Additional Collector, Sanjiv Dessai; SP, Sammy Tavares; SP, Serafin Dias and other senior officers of district administration, Konkan Railways and Police Department were present at Margao Railway station while Deputy Collector Mamu Hage, IAS, Uthkrisht Prasoon, SP, and Deputy Collector Akshay Potekar were present at Karamali Railway station at the time of departure of Train.
The people who boarded the trains were stranded in Goa due to ongoing nationwide lockdown. A proper medical screening and other formalities of the passengers were carried out before they boarded on the train.
All the passengers were served with Pulao, ORS packet, Biscuits packet, Wada Pav, five water bottles per person and sanitary napkins before boarding the train. Earlier, in the holding area water bottle, banana and bread was served to each passenger. A packet of 30 kg Puff Rice per compartment was also provided for the further journey of the passengers.
The entire operation was monitored by District Magistrate North Goa, R Menaka, IAS, District Magistrate South Goa Ajit Roy, IAS, Deputy Collector Mamu Hage, IAS, Uthkrisht Prasoon, SP and Deputy Collector, Akshay Potekar under overall supervision of Kunal, IAS, Nodal Officer for Interstate Movement Cell.
