Shershaah celebrates 3 yrs of release

New Delhi, Aug 12 (UNI) The film Shershaah, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, marks its third anniversary today. To commemorate the occasion, Malhotra shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram, reflecting on his role as Captain Vikram Batra.

Directed by Vishnuvardhan and produced by Karan Johar, Shershaah has endeared itself to audiences as a touching biographical drama.

Malhotra posted a series of images, beginning with his portrayal of Batra in army uniform, followed by a photograph of the real-life Captain Batra, and a picture with the Indian Army.

The post concluded with a photo of Malhotra with Batra’s parents and Advani.

In his caption, Malhotra wrote, “Three years since Shershaah! Portraying Captain Vikram Batra was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career, bringing to life the story of a legendary hero honoured with the Special Jury Award at the 69th National Film Awards.” He added, “Meeting his incredible family made the journey unforgettable. Here’s to celebrating the legacy of a real hero and the memories we created! #3YearsOfShershaah.”

Fans responded enthusiastically, with one commenting, “Best biopic yet!” and another noting, “Three years to the movie that gave us SidKiara.” Producer Karan Johar also marked the anniversary with a video post, stating, “A film for the ages…a film that all of us are so proud of…@sidmalhotra @kiaraaliaadvani @apoorva1972 #vishnuvardhan @shabbirboxwalaofficial.”

Shershaah is based on the life of Param Vir Chakra awardee Vikram Batra, who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Kargil War. The film explores his early life, military career, and romance with Dimple Cheema.

Interestingly, Malhotra and Advani's relationship blossomed during the filming of Shershaah, and the couple married on February 7 in Jaisalmer's Suryagarh Palace.
