Sensex ends lower at 35,432.39 pts on heavy selling

Mumbai, Jun 21 (UNI) The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange
(BSE) slipped in a volatile trade on Thursday by 114.94 points to
end negative at 35,432.39 on heavy selling in Technology, Health
Care, Capital Goods and Power stocks amid weak global cues.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too declined by 30.95
points to 10,741.10.
In a volatile trade today, the Sensex edged higher by 97 points to
35,644.05 in the morning trade. It then advanced by 131 points to
touch the day's high of 35,678.69 at noon. Later, it shaved off
gains and sank by nearly 151 points to hit the day's low of
35,396.93 in late trade, before closing at 35,432.39, sliding by
114.94 points as compared to its last close.
The Nifty registered day's high and low 10,809.60 and 10,725.90
points, respectively.
The sectoral indices that dragged the market down were Technology,
Health Care, Capital Goods and Power, along with the scrips of M&M,
ONGC, SBI and Sun Pharma.

However, Oil & Gas and Energy ended positive that capped further
decline of the Sensex, brokers informed.
Among secondary barometers, the BSE Mid-Cap index fell 0.53 per
cent. The Small-Cap index lost 0.79 pc. Both these indices
underperformed the Sensex.
The market breadth was weak, as 836 shares advanced against 1,754
declined and 142 were unchanged on BSE.
