Second flood warning issued to 5 Southern districts downstream Vaigai Dam

Theni, Dec 6 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Public Works Department (PWD) authorities on Friday issued second flood warning to five Southern districts downstream Vaigai dam, as the water level crossed 68 feet mark against its full capacity of 71 feet.
Official sources said people living on the banks of River Vaigai that traverses through Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram districts were advised to move to safer places, as the Vaigai dam – the lifeline of these Southern districts was reaching towards its full capacity of 71 feet.
People were advised to refrain from taking bath or crossing the river.
