New Delhi, Jun 28 (UNI) Supreme Court on Sunday refused to interfere with Class X state board examinations conducted by the Rajasthan Government, and said that the state board examinations will go on, as per the scheduled on June 29 & 30.
A three-judge bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar dismissed the petition filed by a mother of a child, who was to attend the class X examinations.
The Supreme Court, while dismissing the petition, observed that the Rajasthan High Court's order under challenge was passed a month back and since then there has been no COVID19 positive cases located in the examination centres.
The Apex court stated that state government is taking precautions, after hearing the petition filed by the mother of a student from Bikaner, Maghi Devi.
After the Supreme Court dismissed the petition today, the students of class X have to appear for the remaining papers under CBSE on June 29 and 30.
In the light of the recent judgment in the petitioner, Rajashree against Karnataka, wherein Justice LN Rao of the Apex Court had stated that the Courts should have minimum interference in academic issues.
The petitioner, Maghi Devi, had filed this today at the last moment, while the Rajasthan state government has taken all necessary precautionary measures.
"The Examinations set to start from Monday, and petitioners have not pointed out any major inconvenience. Hence we do not wish to intervene," the Apex Court said.
