SC lifts ban on construction work in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 14 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Friday lifted the earlier ban on the construction work in Delhi-NCR from 1800 hrs to 0600 hrs, while hearing a batch of pollution-related petitions.
A bench of apex court, headed by Justice Arun Mishra and also comprising Justice Indira Banerjee, changed their earlier order on the petition of builders and fixed the matter for further hearing on February 28.
Several matters and petitions regarding pollution, mostly filed by MC Mehta, were being heard before the Supreme Court bench, comprising Justices Arun Mishra and Deepak Gupta.
The court stated that the order passed on November 4, 2019 has served it's purpose.
As per the orders given on January 13, the states and MoEF were to file status reports. Now, time has been extended till February 27 and the Ministry of Agriculture must also file an affidavit, the Court observed.

New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Wednesday gave approval for upward revision of interest subvention from "upto 2 per cent" to "upto 2.5 per cent" under the scheme Dairy processing and Infrastructure Development Fund (DIDF)with the revised outlay of Rs 11,184 crore.

Tapas Pal's death: Mamata becomes 'explosive,' accuses BJP of 'revenge'

New Delhi/Kolkata, Feb 19 (UNI) Infusing 'more tension' in the BJP-Trinamool 'relation,' Trinamool Congress supremo and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday accused the BJP of adopting 'revengeful attitude' towards late actor-turned politician Tapas Pal-arrested by the CBI for his alleged link to Rose Valley Chit Fund scam in December 2016.
Paying her tributes to late Pal before his last journey in Kolkata, Ms Banerjee also termed the passing away of the actor 'most untimely.'
'Tapas Pal had undergone series of insults and humiliations during his jail imprisonment. The BJP is adopting revengeful attitude towards Bengal,' Ms Banerjee observed.
