Sand stir: one construction worker hurt in scuffle with police

Kakinada, Nov 12(UNI) Tension prevailed in Ramanaihpet area here on Tuesday with the construction works owing allegiance to CITU making a vain bid lay siege of the Agricultural Minister Kurasala Kannababu’s residence in protest against sand shortage and the police foiling it.

In the process there was a mild scuffle between the police and the agitators in which one worker injured and fell unconscious.

The injured worker identified as Rongala Eswerarao (41) has been admitted to government general hospital where he is recovering.

The Sarpavaram police have taken into twelve people including CITU leaders in to custody.
