New Delhi, Mar 3 (UNI) In a disappointment for fans of Superstar Salman Khan in Nepal, the actor's 'DaBangg Tour' show, to be held in the neighbouring country on March 10, has been postponed, trade sources said on Saturday.
The sources said that the Da-Bangg Tour show was scheduled to take place in Kathmandu on March 10. But, now the show has been cancelled and the organizers are now looking to lock another date for the the show.
The sources said the show is now likely to be in April.
On the reasons for the postponement, the sources said that Salman Khan and his team was to perform on Tundikhel ground which is supposed to be martyr ground which led to objections from the Maoists.
A Maoist party in Nepal demanded the cancellation of a musical show.
The party, in a statement, described the show as an "expansion of Indian cultural intervention" on Nepali soil.
"The function has the hidden objective to measure the sensitivity of the Nepalese people about their nationality. So we urge it to be cancelled immediately. We know he (Salman) is popular but any kind of cultural attack is not acceptable," the statement said.
"It is not acceptable for us to have a function of foreigners at the Nepal Army Pavilion. We challenge the Nepal Army to prove the logic behind providing space to a foreign actor when it does not allow Nepali political
parties to hold mass meetings in the same pavilion," it said.
