Kathmandu, Sep 23 (UNI) India started their SAFF (South Asian Football Federation) U-18 Championship campaign with a goalless draw against Bangladesh here at the APF Stadium, Nepal on Monday.
The Indian team started the match on an attacking note. However, an injury to goalkeeper Prabhsukan Singh Gill in the 9th minute forced coach Pinto to make an early change.
With Bangladesh committing bodies in defence, India colts were not able to break through as chances for Indian boys came through set pieces. In the 36th minute, Sumit Rathi’s header came close to giving India the lead, but it flew inches over the bar.
