Russia to deploy new S-400 missile battalion to tighten Moscow air defence next week: Def Ministry

Moscow, Dec 1 (UNI) A new air defence battalion armed with the most advanced S-400 Triumf missile systems will be deployed next week to tighten air defence around Moscow and Russia's Central Industrial District, the Russian Defence Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
The S-400 can engage targets at a distance of 400 km and at an altitude of up to 30 km.
The new air defence missile battalion is expected to assume combat duty in the town of Elektrostal outside Moscow on December 6-7, the statement said.
