Rupee falls 17  paise against USD

Mumbai, Sep 15 (UNI) The Rupee on Tuesday slipped by 17 paise to close negative at 73.64

against the US Dollar on rising demand for US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.



The local unit that rose by 11 paise to 73.36 in early trade, erased earlier gains and finished weak at 73.64, sliding by 17 paise as compared to its previous close.

The Rupee drifted lower because of strong Dollar against other world currencies, despite rebounding stock market, the dealers added.

The rupee registered intra days high and low at 73.68 and 73.33 respectively, he added.
