Rupee declines 8 paise against USD

Mumbai, April 16 (UNI) The Rupee on Tuesday dropped 8 paise to close at 83.53 against the USD on rising demand for US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Foreign exchange said.

No major fluctuation was seen during the day, as the domestic unit eased 5 paise at 83.50 in opening session and finished at 83.53, tumbling down 8 paise as compared to its previous figure.

The Rupee recorded intra days high and low at 83.49 and 83.56 respectively, dealer added.
