Robbers strike again, attacks TASMAC employee and robs Rs 5.44 lakh

Madurai, Aug 15 (UNI) Unidentified robbers attacked an employee of Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (TASMAC) and robbed Rs 5.44 lakh at Sathiyapuram near here, police said on Saturday.
V Pandi (36), who was working as a salesman of TASMAC retail outlet at Kachirayanpatti village was riding a motorcycle along with his brother V Kannan with the collection amount, when they were intercepted by a gang of four robbers last night.
The robbers, who came on two motorcycles, pushed the two-wheeler on which Pandi and Kannan were riding at around 2300 hrs. Both of them fell on the road. The gang attacked Kannan with a beer bottle and allegedly robbed the bag containing the cash and escaped from the spot.
