Risk of no-deal Brexit 'palpable': EU Commission Head Juncker

Brussels, Sep 18 (UNI) Amid the growing risk of a no-deal Brexit, President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said on Wednesday that the risk of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union without a ratified agreement on the conditions for the exit remains in place, despite measures taken by the country's authorities.
"The risk of a no-deal Brexit is palpable and Brussels needs operational proposals in writing from the UK government," Mr Junkers said during a plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
UK Parliament passed a law earlier in September that requires the prime minister to request a delay of the withdrawal if an agreement with the union is not made and approved by the involved parties before October 19. However, should that scenario unfold, the council of the heads of state that remain within the union would have the final say in regards to granting the postponement.
