Rishi Kapoor, Madhur Bhandarkar greet Anupam Kher on trailer launch of 'The Accidental Prime Minister'

New Delhi, Dec 28 (UNI) Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor and filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar on Friday congratulated Anupam Kher on the trailer launch of his upcoming political drama 'The Accidental Prime Minister' based on former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Rishi said,'What a wonderful trailer of a film promising to be political yet interesting. @AnupamPKher your passion for your craft is what I hope you teach at your film school. And how smashing does our Akshay Khanna look! Congratulations beforehand!'

Replying to Rishi Kapoor, Anupam said,'Thank you so much dearest @chintskap for your love and appreciation. New York mein saath mein dekhenge #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister.'

Madhur Bhandarkar said,'Superb trailer so looking forward to see the film. Congratulations @AnupamPKher #AkshayeKhanna #VijayGutte @ashokepandit and the team of #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister'.

Earlier in the day, Anupam had shared a picture of him from the movie alongwith the photo of Dr Manmohan Singh, saying,'One pic was clicked today & other in the month of April. It will take you a little time to distinguish between the real & the reel. That is the authenticity and the sincerity one has applied in portraying #DrManmohanSingh. Releasing on 11th Jan. #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister'.

Earlier, the filmmakers had released series of posters from the movie.

Kher plays the role of the former Prime Minister in this Vijay Ratnakar Gutte-directorial.

The three-minute trailer chronicles the life of Manmohan Singh and as the Prime Minister of India from 2004-2014, as narrated by Sanjaya Baru in his book of the same name.

In appearance, Kher aces as Manmohan Singh, while Akshaye Khanna plays the role of Sanjaya Baru, who was Manmohan Singh's media advisor from 2004 to 2008.

The film's plot is narrated through Sanjaya Baru's character.

'The Accidental Prime Minister' delves into the internal politics of the Congress party and how Manmohan Singh handled the situations.

The trailer also features Aahana Kumra as Priyanka Vadra, Arjun Mathur as Rahul Gandhi, and Suzanne Bernert as Sonia Gandhi.

'The Accidental Prime Minister' will hit the screens on February 11.

The film is based on Sanjay Baru’s memoir of the same name that was released in 2014.
