Report on proposed Data Privacy bill soon: Union Minister

Hyderabad, Feb 19 (UNI) Union Minister for Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad, on Monday said that a committee has been set up by the government to study the proposed 'Data Privacy Bill' and will submit a report soon.
In the name of privacy, corrupt and terrorist activities will not be allowed, Ravi Shankar told reporters on the sidelines of the World Congress of Information Technology held here he said.
The aim of Digital India is to bridge the digital gap and make technology more accessible, inclusive and affordable to the common people, he said that about six crore Indians would become digitally literate in the next two -three years. One one crore are already digital literate.

Jammu, April 26 (UNI) With 52.68 per cent voting, Reasi segment showed highest turnout till 1 pm in the Jammu-Reasi Parliamentary Constituency that recorded an overall 42.88 per cent voting in the Phase-2 of the Lok Sabha polls with 17.8 lakh voters deciding the fate of 22 candidates.

Hyderabad: Task force busts International smartphone snatching gang

Hyderabad, Apr 26 (UN) The sleuths of the commissioner’s Task Force of South zone team here have busted an International Smartphone snatching and smuggling gang by arresting 17 accused persons including 5 Sudanese nationals
The Taskforce team along with Bandlaguda Police has busted an International SmartPhones Smuggling & Snatching Gang and recovered stolen property worth Rs 1.75 crore from the accused, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy said in a press conference here on Friday.
