Renuka moves privilege notice against Rijiju in RS

New Delhi, Feb 9 (UNI) Congress member Renuka Chowdhury has given a privilege notice against Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju for retweeting his own post which took a sarcastic jibe at her over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks on her during his reply on the debate to the motion of President's address in the rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
Raising the issue during the discussion on Budget in the House, Ms Chaudhry wanted to know what happened to the notice she had given.
She said that she had given the privilege notice under Rule 188. To this, Mr Patil said that the Chairman would take a decision to the notice.
Notably, while the Prime Minister was replying to a debate on the President's address and was speaking on the government's schemes, Ms Chowdhury was heard laughing loudly.
As the Chairman of the House M Venkaiah Naidu was reprimanding Ms Chowdhury the PM urged the Chairman to let Renuka Chowdhury continue as after the Ramayana serial, it was for the first time he had got the privilege of listening such a laughter.
Notably, a post of Mr Rijiju had a video clip from the Ramayana serial showing Ravan's sister Shurpanakha laughing loudly.
