RBI ED visits Pondy, oversee current mangement position in banks

Puducherry, Apr 21 (UNI) Dr Deepali Pant Joshi, Executive Director, Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai and a well known development economist today visited Puducherry to oversee currency management position in banks here.
She inspected various bank branches along with D Devaraj, State Lead Bank Convener, Indian Bank and verified the currency status.
According to a Raj Nivas release, she also met the Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi and held discussion on demonetisation and its impact in India and Puducherry in particular.
She briefed the Lt.Governor about the steps taken by the RBI to ease out currency position and the subsequent improvement in currency availability in the union territory of Puducherry.
During the discussion,she appreciated the Lt.Governor and the UT administration for the various steps taken to keep Puducherry clean and green. Dr Deepali was very much impressed with the cleanliness of the beach and roads here, the release said.
