Bengaluru, Jan 18 (UNI) Union Minister for Law and Justice, Communications and Electronics and Information, Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday exhorted the National Informatics Center (NIC) officials to work hard to ensure at least one trillion US dollar contribution to the nation’s economy in the next five years through its digital technology support.
Speaking after launching the Centre fo Excellence in Blockchain Technology here on Saturday, the Union Minister said that NIC, which is the backbone of the India’s digital platform, have all the expertise and resources to emerge as one of the global premium institutions.
He also lauded the NIC for developing a technology which enabled over 16000 courts to go digital in the country, including the Supreme Court and High Courts.
Karnataka State Government Chief secretary, Vijaya Bhaskar, who also spoke on the occasion has with the inauguration of the Block Chain technology, Center of Excellence, would help to leverage this new technology to new heights.
He said that the Blockchain technology is an upcoming and niche technology and adoption of the same in sectors such as health, finance, agriculture and various other sectors would aid the government in implementing various programmes and provide trust and immutability to the assets.
