Rajnath, Munda, Yediyurappa appointed observers to choose next Guj CM

New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will send a three-member observer team led by Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh to elect the leader of the new legislative party after the party won the Gujarat elections by a record margin.
"The party has appointed central observers to elect the leader of the legislative party in Gujarat in the parliamentary party meeting," BJP General Secretary Arun Singh told reporters here on Friday.
Two other observers are former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda.
The team will visit Ahmedabad and attend the meeting of the Legislature Party held there.
It is understood that the sitting Chief Minister Bhupinder Patel may be chosen as the leader of the legislative party. He won the Ghatlodia assembly seat by a margin of almost two lakh votes.
Similar indications have emerged from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech at the BJP headquarters on Thursday.
The formation and swearing-in ceremony of the new government in Gujarat will take place on Monday.
