Wayanad April 17 (UNI) The All India Congress Committee president Rahul Gadhi has performed religious rituals like bali tharpanam in memory of his father and former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi at Thirunelli near Wayanad this morning.
The remains of the late Rajiv Gandhi was immersed at the Papanasini river in Thirunelli, as part of the last rites for the former Prime Minister, years ago.
According to party sources, Mr Gandhi also performed rituals for the brave Martyrs of Indian Armed Forces.
Earlier, Mr Gandhi visited the Thirunelli temple along with the KPCC (Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee) President Mullappally Ramachandran and AICC general secretary K C Venugopal.
