Qualifiers play catch up as seeds bide time

Durgapur, Jan 21 (UNI) Even top-seeded Manav Thakkar will not get any breather and will get into action straightaway when main draw event gets underway in Junior Boys singles of the 11Sports 79th Junior and Youth National Table Tennis Championships at the Sidhu Kanu Indoor Stadium here from tomorrow.
The group matches that got over today threw up as many as 56 qualifiers who made the second stage cut and they, along with top eight seeds, will form part of the draw of 64 players with no byes offered to anyone.
As per seeding, based on their ranking points, Manav is followed by SFR Snehit from Telangana (No. 2), PSPB’s Jeeet Chandra (3), Manush Shah from Gujarat (4), Soham Bhattacharya of Kerala (5), Parth Virmani of Delhi (6), Anukram Jain of PSPB (7) and Payas Jain of Delhi (8).
