Punjab polls : Screening committee on MCC constituted

Chandigarh, Jan 13 (UNI) On the directions of the Election Commission of India, a screening committee on Model Code of Conduct (MCC) headed by the Punjab chief secretary has been constituted.
Stating this here today, an official spokesperson of the Punjab Chief Electoral Office said that the screening committee was constituted to settle various matters relating to the MCC imposed in Punjab for the upcoming state assembly elections, in line with the ECI directive.
The three-member Screening Committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary would also have Additional Chief Secretary/Financial Commissioner/Principal Secretary/ Administrative Secretary/ Secretary of the concerned departments whose case has been represented for approval and Principal Secretary/Secretary of the Coordination departments as its members.
