States » North » DIEPosted at: May 23 2019 8:54PM Punjab LS polls: Cong bags 8, SAD, BJP 2 each & AAP 1Chandigarh, May 23 (UNI) The Congress party, under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, successfully halted the Modi juggernaut in Punjab as the grand old party bagged eight Lok Sabha seats while the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bhartiya Janata Party alliance won four parliamentary constituencies whereas the Aam Adami Party was able to secure only one seat in the state.The Congress party won Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Khadoor Sahib, Patiala, Anandpur Sahib and Faridkot.
