Protests in Azadpur market after death of man suspected of theft

New Delhi, Jan 7 (UNI) Protests broke out today at the Azadpur Mandi in North West Delhi after two men were beaten by a mob on the suspicion of stealing a carton of apple, leading to death of one person and serious injuries to others.
The relatives of Sanjay (22) and Mukesh (20), who worked as causal labourers in the mandi, alleged that both were returning from their duty when 10-15 security guards mistook them as ‘thieves’ and beat both of them, leading to death of Sanjay and injuries to Mukesh.
However, some of the locals maintained that the duo was caught red-handed while they were purportedly trying to slip away with a carton of apple from Azadpur Mandi. The locals said the duo had misbehaved with public, which led to a scuffle between them and public.
