Proposal of increasing speed of trains gets NITI Aayog support: Govt

New Delhi, Jul 21 (UNI) The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog has appraised and supported a proposal of increasing speed of trains in the Delhi-Howrah and Delhi-Mumbai corridors to 160-200 kmph, the Government said today.

In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State in the Ministry of Railways Rajen Gohain said that the project, supported by NITI Aayog in June 2017, would be completed at a cost of Rs 18,163-crore.
