Presidential ordinance lapses: Hafiz's JuD, FIF no longer on list of banned outfits in Pakistan

Islamabad, Oct 26 (UNI) Pakistani Islamist militant and 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack mastermind Hafiz Mohammad Saeed's organisations -- Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Falah-i-Insaniyat Foundation--- are no longer on the list of banned outfits as the presidential ordinance outlawing them has lapsed.
On Thursday, Saaed's counsel informed the Islamabad High Court that the presidential ordinance that proscribed JuD and FIF had lapsed.
According to the Constitution of Pakistan, an ordinance will expire in 120 days from the day of promulgation if not repealed or made into a law.
