Postpone all non-essential expenditures till May 1st week : Govt to officials

Puducherry, Apr 9 (UNI) In view of the prevailing financial crunch, the government has directed all officials to postpone all the non-essential expenditures till the first week of May.

Finance Secretary Shurbir Singh in a circular on Thursday said that there was a huge shortfall of Revenue to the extent of Rs 570 crore in the fiscal 2019-20, due to various factors like non-receipt of GST Compensation, poor performance in collection of targeted Revenue by Excise and Registration departments. This had direct bearing on the cash balance of the Union Territory.
